Kanois a printmaker who started his career as a self-taught artist. Although he is a solitary printmaker who has accumulated different expressions for each series, he has been producing oil paintings since 1980. When carrying out research on beeswax as a printing material, he became interested in oil paints, and it is said to be the reason for him to shift to oil painting. Kano’s first ever published oil painting was “Breast Region”. It is created by pouring melted paint onto the horizontally placed paper or canvas, and making it flow by the static electricity of a transparent film. The common parts of this series are the six ears and the white lines separating the colored surfaces. Kano was strongly influenced by his close friend, Takiguchi Shuzo, making it interesting to interpret the picture in comparison with Takiguchi's Decalcomania works that show similarities.
