A large circular glass disk and a smaller round mirror are mounted on a support. A light is directed at the mirror, which reflects the light onto the glass disk. When the positions of the light source, mirror, and glass are perfectly aligned, the light passing through the glass creates a hologram. Their relationship resembles that between a planet and its satellite, sustained by a miraculous equilibrium. Eliasson reveals the complex principle and allows a glimpse of a beautiful world into view.
