Glaciers serve as an important theme for Ishizuka. This work is a variation on the six-meter-long work that was created and presented for a museum exhibition. He photographed Alaska's Shoup Glacier while buffeted by the tidal current of the fjord. The glacier appeared entirely different in each frame at an astounding scale that could never be taken in one glance. By somehow reassembling these disconnected images into a single panorama, the artist depicts the glacier as an overwhelming presence.
