The production of this work spans over two years. Takahashi occasionally modifies his works over time. This work continues from his early, well-known series “Night Painting”, though it appears to be relatively flatter as compared to substantial clumps of paint excessively employed in the past. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that this painting is extremely impasto-oriented by conventional painting standards. Countless pointillism, circles, and lines cover the entire painting, this work seems to be following a sense of regularity rather by coincidence. The coloration and balanced composition are created deliberately. This work was exhibited at “Sazaedo 2020 – Modern Spiral and a Hundred Paintings” (Art Museum & Library, Ota, 2020), as well as at “Energy Overflowing from the Gaze” (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, 2022).
