From the top of the composition downward, blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, light green, and green scale-like forms are arranged in neat rows, gradually shifting in color. The forms could be considered flower petals, stars, or waves, as small figures and a whale blowing out water among them create a vividly bustling atmosphere. Deki uses a method described as “finger printing,” pressing colors onto the screen with her fingertips. Despite the square screen being only 30cm across, it has a richness of texture felt not only from the vibrant, vivid colors, but also in the continuity of the relief built up by the countless applications of paint shaped by the artist’s finger, filling the screen with a powerful energy. It invites the viewer’s gaze into even the finest of details, allowing them to experience a world of infinite intricacy.
