ANNIE MORRIS
Born in London, the United Kingdom, in 1978. After graduating from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) in 1997, Morris went on to the Slade School of Fine Art (UCL), from which she graduated in 2003, having studied overseas at Beaux-Arts de Paris from 1998 to 2002. Her work spans a diverse range, including sculpture, painting, and tapestry, but it was her “Stack” series, which she has worked on since 2014, that brought Morris onto the international scene. The series fully demonstrates her unwavering skill and talent as a sculptor able to translate inspiration from her own personal history into a clear vision for the rest of the world. Her first solo exhibition at a public museum was held in 2021 at The Weston Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park; in 2022, she held a solo exhibition at the facility designed by Oscar Niemeyer at the Château La Coste (Provence).
