Last Laugh
Born in Stuttgart (GE) in 1968, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in1996 and Purchase College, State University of New York in1998. Parker came into the spotlight at the first “Greater New York” exhibition at MoMA PS.1. He is an artist of “Lowbrow Art”, deriving inspiration from comics, hip-hop and psychedelic art. His works completely deviate from the standards of painting, using a lot of texts and colors that are overly emphasized. Parker has openly stated that studying under the Pop Art legend Peter Saul has had a major influence on his out-of-the-box painting expression. Parker has held numerous solo exhibitions and other exhibitions around the world, and his works are in the collections of including MoMA (NY), Hammer Museum (LA), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art (NY), Brooklyn Museum (NY), Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
