1987年北海道生まれ。2012年、東北芸術工科大学大学院実験芸術学科修了。力強い筆致、鮮やかな色彩を特徴として、人物や植物などの造形をダイナミックに描き出す。「描くことは生きること」と作家が述べている通り、命そのものや、生きること、生かされていることについてを描き続けている。東日本大震災、結婚、夫との死別、出産、死生観を大きく揺るがす出来事を経て、自らを引き絞るようにして作品の中に表現する命のあり方はあまりにも生々しく、見る者の胸を打つ。主な個展に「近藤亜樹 - 星、光る」(2021年, 山形美術館)、「HIKARI」(2016年, 大和日英基金大和ジャパンハウス, ロンドン)、グループ展では、国際芸術祭「あいち 2022」(愛知県一宮市)、「VOCA展 2022」(上野の森美術館, 東京)、「高松市美術館コレクション+ 身体とムービング」(2020年, 高松市美術館)、「絵画の現在」(2018年, 府中市美術館, 東京)など多数。愛知県美術館、高松市美術館などに作品が収蔵されている。
