A sheet of translucent acrylic glass is set upright, with a light source positioned behind it. Complex shadows cast by the source spread through the surrounding space. A spiral form is mounted around the light source, and as it rotates, the shadows flow like images in a revolving lantern. In a brightly illuminated place, the shadow stretching behind is easily forgotten. In this work, Eliasson presents not light, but shadow.
