A deep fjord-like valley and a tranquil waterscape. The deep V-shape of the sky between the valleys is reflected in the lake's surface, dividing the composition with a tilted cross. The sublimity reminiscent of Romantic painting that permeates Inose’s work suggests a melancholic twist. As his evident in his other landscapes featuring monoliths and pools, awe and reverence in the present day are directed not only toward the grandeur of nature, but also toward the human interventions that have sought to subdue it by force.
