Okada depicts a view of a place where she has visited before. Although the title of this work “one view” has the meaning of “a certain view”, it does not by definition mean “one” specific landscape. Everyone feels differently even when facing the same view. In fact, Okada’s works do not depict the actual landscapes, instead, she often uses deformations or colors which cannot be found in nature. However, these characteristics do not necessarily derive solely from the artist's personal “point of view”. The reason is that “one view” encompasses the diversity that each person who faces that particular scenery may have in mind. It can be said that it is an inductive approach that leads from individuality towards universality.
