This work is a multiple produced to accompany the collector’s edition of “METAMORPHOSIS,” a collection of Nawa’s works for over 10 years. "Mol” is a unit of measurement that specifies the quantity of atoms or molecules of the elements that compose a substance. The subject of this work is a water molecule. “Flora” is likely a reference to the Greek goddess of flowers. Legend has it that the nymph Chloris transformed into Flora, goddess of the spring and flowers, after being abducted by the west wind Zephyros, who had become enamored of her. The mythological scene is depicted in Botticelli’s much-renowned painting, “Primavera.” The arrival of spring is the season when life undergoes a sweeping transfiguration—a metamorphosis.
