SKOLOCT is both the artist’s name and the name of a character. The mysterious creature with large ears and eyes depicted in this work is SKOLOCT. Spray paint resembling electrical discharges is layered with intense force. Deeply involved in the Ura-Harajuku culture since the 1990s, the artist channels that cultural background through this character. It embodies the spirit of discerning what is "real" with one’s own eyes, breaking through the "fake", and fighting one's way to the top. In Ura-Harajuku, both fashion and street culture have long drawn their energy from this rebellious spirit.
