Title: Tea Bowl with Bamboo Design in Overglaze Enamels
Born in Kyoto in 1938, Takahashi Dohachi VIII was the eldest son of Takahashi Dohachi VII. He studied ceramics, wheel throwing, and glaze technology before training under his father. Inheriting a distinguished Kyoto-ware lineage, he worked in overglaze enamels, underglaze blue, and styles inspired by Ninsei and Kenzan. He succeeded to the name Takahashi Dohachi VIII in 1983 and died in 2011.
