青い色彩で一面が覆われた画面に、数本の斜線が現れている。横方向に残された刷毛目が、画面に揺らぐ水面のような流動性を与えている。深い水底からの光、という詩的な情景を描く。深い水に差し込んだ光は、赤い波長を吸収し、青い波長を散乱する水の性質によって深くなれなそれだけ青を強める。福井の描く濃い青の水はどれほどの深さだろうか。
