アルミホイルで造形された植物。本作はキツネガヤ(狐茅)というイネ科の植物で日本では全国的に分布する見慣れた植物をモチーフとしている。三家は、題材となる植物の組成をよく調べ、アルミホイルの可塑性を使って精巧にそれを再現する。植物、本作ではそれも雑草と呼ばれるような、人にとっては鑑賞的価値も農産物的価値も持たないものに目を向け、丁寧に造形する。鏡面に仕上げられたアルミホイルの表面は、強く周囲の光や様子を反射する。実際の植物にそのような特徴をもつものは存在しないのだから、本作においては植物としてあり得べからざる光景が示されていることは疑いようがない。造形的には精巧に模倣された自然物でありながら、アルミホイルの硬い光沢が非自然物(工業的な物質)であることを強く主張する。市販される造花の類が植物の形質をできるかぎり違和感なく再現しようとするのに対して、三家の作品は同じく形態の模倣でありながらも質的な合一を目指してはいない。むしろ、自然物の造形を精緻に装うことによって、その模倣(ミメーシス)の中に現れる避け難い異質さを私たちの目の前に開示するのである。
